My Views on Feminism
I would like to start out by saying that I advocate equal rights for all genders and in no way in this articulation of my opinions am I attempting to justify misogyny.
Although many feminists advocate equality, I find that their method of achieving equality actually accomplishes the opposite of their intentions. Feminists focus mainly on the issues women face in society and usually (from what I have experienced in my life) completely ignore the issues men face. What feminists fail to realize is that men and women are both discriminated against in this society (by society I am referring to america.)
Examples of Discrimination women face: They have to pay more for healthcare, they are scorned for being as sexually active as most men, they are discriminated against in the education systems, and much more.
Example of Discrimination Men face: They have their genitals mutilated at birth without consent, Men are often thought as the antagonist in domestic violence situations even though studies have shown that women are equally likely to cause domestic violence, Men are expected to make the money in the family, Men can be drafted into the military, In divorce situations women are more likely to keep the children, and much more
This is why I don’t consider myself a feminist because I don’t believe that focusing on the issues of women can absolve the issues men face.
Radical Feminism: Radical Feminism is the worst kind of feminism because the usual radical feminist advocates extreme indignation towards men. They usually scorn men for being “hateful”, “rapists”, and other unsubstantiated insults.
